  1. Ancient Code of Hammurabi omitted a 13th law from its list of legal rules.
  2. Judas Iscariot was the thirteenth guest at the Last Supper. (Led to the Christian superstition that having 13 guests at a table is a bad omen.)
  3. In Viking mythology, Loki was the 13th guest of a feast, honoring Baldur, even though Loki was responsible for Baldur's death.
  4. 13 is the age when a Jewish boy has his bar mitzvah and becomes a full member of the Jewish faith.
