Setting Alerts

Setting up search alerts in your preferred databases is an excellent way to keep up-to-date on your topic and to help build your citation lists and references. Once you've identified useful articles and resources, the search runs automatically. You receive an email notification when new results are available. Using the alert service saves valuable time for your assignments. In order to use the alert services, you do need to set up a personalized account for each of the databases.

Here are links to instructions for setting up search alerts in some of the popular database platforms available through Full Sail Library.

Nexis Uni Alert

Google Scholar Alerts

Using Google Scholar alerts are similar to database alerts. Once you've created an alert, you receive an email notification and link when new articles matching your search are added to Google Scholar. To create an alert go to Google Scholar and enter your search. Click on the Create Alert icon, and enter the email address where you want your results sent. You can set your preference for number of results sent. Then click on the RED create alert button.
