Pride Month: Frida Kahlo

This guide gives resources and background information on LGBTQ+ Pride Month, celebrated in June.

Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo, born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderon (1907-1954), is considered by many to be one of Mexico's greatest artists. Kahlo is known for her surrealist self-portraits and other works inspired by the nature and artifacts of her native Mexico. After contacting Polio at the age of six, she remained disabled for the rest of her life but never let it hinder her artistic abilities and creative mind.
